3D low poly workshop starts Monday...
My low polygon modeling workshop starts this coming Monday, the 23rd.
Interested parties can sign up on the 5th floor with Barb (right across from the silver elevators).
We'll be in room 733 for the presentation. Yes, I know that's not a computer lab, but that won't slow us down. I'll be running the presentation off of my laptop and projecting it.
Besides, it's less about following along and more about simply observing how another artist operates inside a particular software package.
I hope everyone can make all 4 sessions. I'll do my best to show you everything I know about polygons.
The gallery is finally open...
Just a quick update to let you know that the gallery is open at long last.
The image on the left is the first "complete" work that I've added to the site since it's relaunch in September of last year.
My how time flies.
This piece was an experiment. I've been trying to find a solid approach to illustration in Photoshop. I've drawn techniques from several different sources for this illo and cooked up a few of my own as well.
I'm pretty happy with the end result. This image isn't perfect but it's a good start. Look for more to follow in the same vein.
Once I've gotten my approach totally ironed out I'll post a tutorial. Or you could always take my illustration classes...
Progress on the holiday project...
This image is still chugging along.
I've altered the character quite a bit from the original sketch, although that may not be obvious at first glance. The shoulders are narrower and her left lower leg has been restructured. Also, the chest is now more canted to match the angle of the shoulders.
At some point in the near future I'll post an overlay comparison between the original line art and the final ink lines in the work in progress section.
I'm sure that more will change before it's finished. Next I'll be adding value and texture to the environment.
